I have been horrible about my blogging the past couple of months. I hate that because I like to look back on the things we have done, or are doing. I am going to try to be better, but I know that is ambitious as the summer and even more craziness approaches! This month has been full of fun. We ventured off to Pullman at the start of the month to watch my youngest sister Joy graduate WSU. I couldn't be more proud of her and all her accomplishments! I am so excited to have her home full time, so we can hang out more! The weekend we were there was a whirlwind filled with her graduation and packing her up to go home. Not to mention that was mothers day weekend! The boys made all the moms a great breakfast of croque monsieurs and picked up our favorite lattes and doughnuts. It was a real treat! The best part of it all is that we actually have husbands that know what croque monsieurs are, pretty impressive I think! I can't believe it was my second mother's day already. It has been the best year yet, and I can't say enough how much I love being Reese's mommy. I got to spend the rest of the day riding in the car with her on the way home. She was such a good girl as usual, and we had so much fun playing in the back seat.
That next Thursday we left for San Francisco. My brother in law, Jon, or Beans as he is better known, graduated with his MBA at Haas (Berkeley). This was quite an accomplishment as this is one of the best and most exclusive MBA programs in the country! Chris and I decided it would be best to leave Reese with her grandparents since the weekend would likely include some late nights and a lot of running around. I was a little apprehensive for leaving her for 4 days, but I knew she was in great hands. Of course it went off without a hitch. Reese even maintained her normal sleeping schedule of about 7:30-7:30. I was a little worried that she might wake up at night due to the new environment, but she proved me wrong. She was an angel, and I think we missed her more than she missed us! I am so happy that she is so social and easy going. Chris and I had so much fun hanging out with Beans and all his friends. We also had some great alone time to walk the city and even go to the farmers market on Saturday morning. I can't tell you how much I enjoy walking around in a new city. Just being with Chris and experiencing new places are some of my most favorite moments with him. I am such a lucky girl to have him, I can't say that enough! It was also so fun to be able to go out at night worry free. We didn't have to worry about what time we came home, or when we had to get up in the morning. It was a nice little break. We also ventured off to Napa for a day. Many of you know, but the last time we went to Napa I found out I was pregnant the day before we left! So needless to say I was the designated driver for that trip. Not so much the case for this stop! We had a blast at the wineries and soaked up the 75 degree weather. We finished the night at Michael Chiarrelo's restaurant Bottega. It was amazing! We tried to order out of our comfort zone, and had some of the best food we have ever tasted. We will definitely be visiting that place again! I flew home on Sunday night. I got over to my parents house after midnight. I went right to Reese's room just to look at her before I went to bed. I couldn't resist the temptation to run my fingers through her now very long hair. She immediately woke up and looked at me. I picked her up and she melted into my shoulder. She is no longer a cuddly baby, so I relished this moment with her. I sat down in the rocking chair and just rocked for 5 minutes as she laid her head on my shoulder and played with my hair. I finally decided she needed her rest too, and lay her back down. Such an amazing moment after being gone for a few days! Chris and Beans drove up from San Francisco on Monday. They drove straight through and surprised me at the house at 6am! Poor Chris just took a 2 hour power nap and went to work. Crazy guy!
Here are some pics from our trip and the graduations!
